Currently Playing: My Immortal Pt.2 By Evanescence - My Immortal (Live From Cologne Germany)

Ah, just want to clarify that it was the receptionist at the SGA office that said the mean thing to me and not the attorney (whom I didn't even get a chance to meet). Don't want him to be wrongfully accused. His name is Eugene Flynn. Hope he's a nice guy. Anyway, Bruce made an appointment to see him (since he is enrolled this semester) so we will just go together.

Don't usually get so worked up over something like this. I think half my anger was directed at MBNA (except when I was writing the journal it just went all out on the lawyer issue). What happened is last month I tried to withdraw some money with my MBNA credit card as a cash advance (another story behind that, but nothing to worry about, just had some fund transfer issues). But the ATM hanged (I actually saw the OS/2 screen) and took my card and did not give me any cash. So I had to try another ATM with another credit card (no problems this time). However, my MBNA card was still charged with the withdrawal even though I didn't get any money.

I called MBNA, and they said that I have to write in to dispute the item. So I wrote in, and even reminded them to remove any finance charge associated with the withdrawal, since the transaction is basically void. But lo and behold, when the statement came, although they temporarily removed the withdrawal amount for dispute, they still charged me the "ATM transaction fee" + "cash advance fee" + "cash advance finance charges". Damn, these guys sure know how to make money.

Apparently I have to fill in a separate form for each dispute, and the various fees are considered different items. Stupid, right? That's not all. They're so quick to take my money. But they haven't paid me the 2% cash back (an offer that was valid for a few months last year). I called in several times about that as well but each time they say they'll look into it and call me back - and they never did.

Anyway, some of these credit card companies are pretty messed up. But if any of you have problems with Citibank credit cards, don't blame Bruce!! He works for the risk management group of CitiCapital that deals with commercial loans and nothing to do with credit cards :-P But he does admit that even some of their operations dealing with billions of dollars are pretty messed up!!
