For Love (of music) or Money?

Company: Brook Mays Print Music. Interviewer: President of the company himself. Seemed impressed with my music background despite being a CS major... asked me a couple of questions.

"Score order?"
Huh?
"You know, the order of instruments on a conductor's score?"
Oh, yeah, first the flutes heading off the woodwinds followed by the brass and then percussion.
"Right."
If it's symphony orchestra, the strings go first instead.
"No, actually, the strings go last"
(Why didn't I just keep my mouth shut after getting the first part right??)
"How about the different periods of music?"
Oh yeah, there's classical, romantic...
"That's two out of five."
Modern? Medieval? Uhh....
"Baroque. Like Bach."
That's right! I sing so much Bach, how can I forget? (good save?)

Talked a bit more. Sounded like a great place to work with nice people. And surrounded by music scores. This is the headquarters. Sales, distribution of sheet music. Fun. Until...
"We usually start around $7.00 to $7.50 an hour."

*hugs*

i understand...this is a stressful time for you. i can sense your frustration even tho you don't say anything. the money we borrowed from you definately didn't help you with anything either (don't have to say things to make me feel better)

i wish i could do something to help...urg. but all i can do right now is to be here and listen. so, vent if you need to, don't have to worry about worrying us, ok??

what do you have to do for this job? sales? i'd say take it...for now anyways. better than you sitting around killing your brain cells. and who knows, maybe you'll get to know some musicians thru this job who can hook you up with cooler music-related jobs! hehe...i'm not being too hopeful am i? i know the importance of money...but if there's really nothing you can do, why not settle for a little less? you'll never know what you'll get out of it!

am i making sense? haha...i better get back to studying....:P
